Origin
In it’s former glory, Camp Berakah was a 290-acre Girl Scout Camp formerly known as (Camp Woodland) in operation from 1948-2008. They hosted thousands of girls over the years fostering an environment of joy, laughter and fun while providing life-long memories.
Transition
The story of Camp Berakah began in 2016 when Rod and Jane shared the desire God placed in their hearts to develop a unique ministry on a unique site.
The Journey
The property was initially rezoned for commercial use, and then the journey really got interesting.
In 2017, restoration and new construction began on Phase I of the 15-year plan which included restoring a semi-Olympic pool, Oak Point, Cedar Ridge, and a new multi-purpose building.
In 2020, we opened our doors for the inaugural season of micro-weddings, family events, summer and fall retreats. By the time we crossed into our fifth year of operation, we had served more than 1,000 people.
Since then, Camp Berakah has added a new pool complex with event space and shower house, seven (7) dry cabins and community fire pits.
Present Day
Rod and Jane are ready to serve as instruments of God’s love and use the land as a blessing to people of all ages.
With each challenge, God continues to faithfully move the vision into a full-blown reality while maturing the leadership and details of the ministry.
The existence and success of Camp Berakah is evidence of answered prayers, unwavering discipleship, and joyful sweat equity with family and friends.
